Portraits Of Boston Marathon survivors see runners returning to the finish line to look back. See more of these inspiring photos here.

Photographer Robert X. Fogarty of Dear World, a message-on-skin photography project, prepared the portraits of the survivors.

Amazingness

Robert Fogerty is legit. I’m always amazed to see how Dear NOLA grew into something that takes him all over the world. And I’m still really happy that he took my photo in 2010.

Too many young women I think are harder on themselves than circumstances warrant. They are too often selling themselves short. They too often take criticism personally instead of seriously. You should take criticism seriously because you might learn something, but you can’t let it crush you. You have to be resilient enough to keep moving forward, whatever the personal setbacks and even insults that come your way might be. That takes a sense of humor about yourself and others. Believe me, this is hard-won advice I’m putting forth. It’s not like you wake up and understand this. It’s a process.

"If I succeed I create the opportunity for more people to succeed…" — This

(via huffingtonpostwomen)

Worked until 1 AM and my friend (who’s visiting from Austin) just cancelled on me for brunch because she’s hungover.

This weekend is off to a shitty start.

S is en route to his (belated) bachelor party in New Orleans via a limo (he knew another guy who did that for his bachelor party, and it actually works out to be cheaper than flying with 5-7 guys). He just texted me that they’re stuck in traffic outside of the city because it’s French Quarter Fest weekend, two guys are passed out, they did shots of Fireball out of champagne glasses, and they’re going to do 2-3 shots before dinner at Commander’s Palace.

Meanwhile, I just got home from work and probably have a good 3-4 hours of work ahead of me tonight. However, tomorrow I am really looking forward to Pure Barre and drunk brunch at Cook and Collins, which is approximately 50 steps from my front door.
